I hope ya'll had a great weekend. We were successful at cleaning out the closets and WOW did it feel good. Now, the countdown to summer begins. Preschool ends this week for Caroline and then next week school ends for Marianna. This is very cliche, but yes this school year flew by! We are so excited for summer though. Everyone needs some much deserved rest and relaxation.
The girls and I were outside today trying to get some fresh air to rid of this awful stomach bug they've had. They are both starting to feel much better, thank goodness. It seems like here in South Carolina we go from winter to summer. Spring may last a week if that. Since we couldn't partake in the pool today, we played on the swing set, did side walk chalk art, rode bikes and dug in the dirt. Well, the girls dug in the dirt. I don't remember ever liking that as a child. I used to love to dig at the beach, but I was never a fan of getting dirty. Not my girls, they love it. Today Caroline found a worm while digging. She insisted we put it in a bucket, give it some dirt and keep it safe. So, we did. Caroline had no problem picking it up and touching it while Sofia and I squirmed. I'm amazed at how girly girls they can be and then they turn around and hold a worm. They are naturally curious and adventurous. I Love it!!! The photo is of Caroline and Sofia with their worm in the pink bucket.
I completley bailed on my exercise this morning. My plan was to get up 5:45am, go for a jog and be back to help Marianna get ready for school. I woke up around 4:30am, I should have stayed awake. Something about being up at 4:30am does not sit well with me. I fell back to sleep and when my dreaded alarm went off I hit snooze (about 10 times). Needless to say, no exercise this morning. I really wish I could motivate myself to get up. My plan for the summer is to get up before my husband leaves for work. Realistically, that is the only time I can go without dragging along three kids. I have taken Caroline and Sofia with me the entire school year and it is getting old very quickly. They pull each others hair while sitting in the jogging stroller, they argue etc. I just keep turning up my I-pod but have discovered the volume is at its max. So, plan B is in place. Now, I need to motivate myself and not let it go. What do other Moms do? When do ya'll have time to exercise and what do you do with your children?
A rose can say "I love you,"
orchids can enthrall,
but a weed bouquet in a chubby fist,
yes, that says it all.
