Yes, I want a vacation. The white sand beach, beautiful blue ocean and a great cocktail. Not this kind of vavcation. I woke up in the middle of the night with a terrible ear ache. Off to the doctor I go because my head feels like a balloon. Diagnosis: Sinus and ear infection. I knew it, I just needed something to make it better. I already do saline nasal rinses and take zyrtec. Somehow, this one got past all of that and settled in my ears. So, thankfully it's Sunday and my husband is here to watch the girls. In my head I'm thinking okay well, it's not paradise but I get to go lie down without interruptions. Any one who is a stay at home Mom knows this is a mini vacation.
Until I awake, uhhhh. what a feeling. My head was pounding and my stomach was so upset. I took my antibiotic earlier but apparently not with enough food. I feel 100 times worse than I did this morning. I have been in bed all afternoon and I am not enjoying it.
Marianna was such a sweetheart and huge help. She brought me ginger ale and saltines whenever I needed. I thought my ginger ale and saltine days were long gone. They were my survival kit during early pregnancy. Today, they taste very good and about all I can handle right now.
Caroline thought it was a party. She brought her stuffed animals and lay next to me. She asked, "Mama, can we put the saltines in between us?" "Just in case we want to share." She is so sweet. I think she thought it was fun to have Mama in bed.
Sofia didn't know what was happening but just wanted to come jump on the bed. It made my stomach ache every jump she took, but she is so darn cute. I didn't have the energy to tell her no.
Oh well, not a mini vacation anymore but seeing these smiling faces and sweet girls who just want Mama to feel better makes it worth it.
