Finally, we are sitting outside and feeling the sun on our faces. It has been a gloomy 3 days here. Very unusual. At least all the rain will save on watering the lawn :-) No, seriously we needed the rain, but enough already!!!
As soon as it stopped the kids were like horses running out the gates...and they're off. Outside and happy as clams, I love it. I get claustrophobic sitting in the house all day and I know the kids do too.
Sofia is sitting next to me reading, well looking at a book and it is so amazing how much her vocabulary is growing. She will point to a picture and say the name. I love watching her grow and learn. She has so much curiousity and enthusiasm. I hope she never loses that love of learning.
Isn't it funny how you can have multiple children yet they are all different in personalities. As parents, do you find it hard not to compare your children to one another? I do. I am not doing it in a negative way, it is just so interesting how their personalities develop. When Sofia was born a friend of ours gave us the book "You're all my Favorites" by Sam McBratney. It is so appropriate for siblings. A loving story about how a mother and father find the same amount of love for all their children.
Our girls do not lack attention but they definitely have jealousy issues at times. If my husband comes home from work and is paying attention to one, the others talk louder to get his attention. I see it a lot with Caroline. She will ask if Sofia will be taking a nap today so she and I can be alone. It tugs at my heart strings. How can I possibly pay any more attention? I need to grow another set of arms to do it all. For now, I will just grab them all at once and hug as hard as I can!
