Vulnerability

Have you been in a situation where you feel vulnerable?  It's uncomfortable right?  For me, I get nervous, my palms get sweaty , my heart races and my stomach turns.  Why do I put myself through such times?  Well, because I believe these moments make us stronger.  When we get through an uncomfortable situation we come out of it a better person.  The hard part is we don't realize it until it's over.

Are you the type of person that takes chances?  Do you try new things openly or without hesitation?  What about your children?  Isn't it funny how we want our kids to be willing to try new adventures yet often times we are scared to do them ourselves.

I'm trying to help my children distinguish when they need to be guarded and safe or when they can let themselves feel open and accessible.  It's not an easy task for a parent.  We have the instinct to protect our children at all times.  There are circumstances in which we need to push them and let them experience vulnerability.  I believe it will help make them more aware of their own feelings.   IT will teach them about courage and strength.

I am working on a project that is leaving me SO open to vulnerability.  I know when it is complete I will feel amazing and accomplished.  It's the process of going through it that makes me a nervous wreck.  When the right time comes, I'll share it with y'all.

For now, I am going to concentrate on letting myself take those chances and see where it leads me.

You can't get to courage without walking through vulnerability

Don't aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally.
