When saying goodbye leads to saying hello

Our vacation is coming to a close and it is starting to stir up emotions.  I am sad to be leaving our family; sad to be leaving the beach house; and sad that summer break is almost over.  On the other hand I am happy to be going home to my bed.  Nothing is better than your own bed.  I am also looking forward to a routine and the FALL weather :-)

It has been a wonderful vacation.  We managed to fit a lot in during our two weeks.  We frequented the beach almost every day!  We made it to the boardwalk and were able to ride some really fun coasters.  We went on a pirate cruise.  We had some adult date nights.   We ate a lot of ice cream :-)  We went on a boat, tubed and fished.  Most importantly, we were able to spend a lot of quality time together and with our loved ones.  It was so special to have that time and we really appreciate it.

I was able to gather some items that belonged to my parents during this trip.  It is always emotional to visit and be reminded of when they were here with us.  This trip was a turning point for me though.  I feel as if I have crossed that bridge I refer to often.  I know in my heart that they see my family and I.       I know that they are smiling down on us.  I am now on the other side of my bridge and will continue to head in the right direction. I am learning to say goodbye to grief and say hello to new memories; to memories made with my children.  I will take the items we have and display them proudly in our home.  I will continue to talk about and share memories of my parents with my children so that they will always remember them.

The end of vacation is here but it is the start of a new beginning for me and I look forward to it.

"This is my wish for you: Comfort on difficult days, smiles when sadness intrudes, rainbows to follow the clouds, laughter to kiss your lips, sunsets to warm your heart, hugs when spirits sag, beauty for your eyes to see, friendships to brighten your being, faith so that you can believe, confidence for when you doubt, courage to know yourself, patience to accept the truth, Love to complete your life."

Don't aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally.
