Angels and Tasty Tuesday

My 7 year old has had a lot of questions lately about angels.  She likes to collect angels, which I love.  She wonders what angels look like, if we can ever see angels etc.  I adore our conversations.  She is so curious and innocent.  Last night before bed we read "The Gift of an Angel" by Marianne Richmond.  It is such a sweet story about how God gives each newborn baby a guardian angel.  It has beautiful illustrations and just one of my favorite children's story.  We received it from a good friend when Marianna was baptized.  It makes a perfect gift for a new baby.

Well, I just can't believe that for us summer is almost over.  Our schools start here mid August.  We have had a really nice summer filled with fun activities.  We are going to get in a family vacation starting Friday.  I promise to post a few times, but it will be light.  I am REALLY looking forward to seeing our family and friends.  The girls are so excited they asked if we could leave tonight.

Oh and yes, my sewing class was a success!!!  I loved it.  I actually learned how to thread the machine the proper way and sew a few different stitches.  I know it sounds silly, but I had no clue what I was doing.  It was a two hour "basics" course.  It was so much fun and now I have the sewing bug.  I cannot wait to start a project when we return from vacation.   I have so many ideas in my head...looking forward to trying them out =)

Our tasty Tuesday recipe is one I threw together last night and I have to say it was pretty yummy!  It is angel hair pasta with grilled asparagus and cherry tomatoes.  Here is a picture.  Of course a glass of vino too :-)

I chopped the asparagus, tossed it in a bowl with olive oil, salt, pepper and parmesan cheese.  Then cooked it in the oven at 425 for approximately 9- 10 minutes.  I cut the cherry tomatoes in half.  Then tossed the asparagus and tomatoes together.  Cook the angel hair pasta according to the package, approximately 4 minutes.  Then toss it all together in a big bowl and top with some more olive oil and Parmesan cheese.  Pour yourself a glass of wine, big or small your choice :-)  Mangia!!!  Happy Tuesday ya'll.

Don't aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally.
