There is a silver lining in every story right? Well, I am trying to find it. I had a follow up with my orthopedic surgeon yesterday and it didn't go as I had hoped. He would like for me to keep the cast on for another 3 weeks. At that point, we will do an MRI and if it reveals anything or if I am still in pain he will proceed with arthroscopic surgery. He said yesterday that it could be two scenarios....I have ligament damage...but he doesn't yet know how severe. He said if it is in the area where there is good blood flow and it is a small tear, it may heal on its own without surgery. If it is in an area with poor blood flow, he will have to do surgery. He is hearing a clunking sound when he rotates my wrist and that is when it hurts the most, so I am not feeling as positive as I would like to be. He said the clunking and where the pain and swelling is could be a tfcc tear (triangular cartilage), which requires surgery. It seems like a guessing game at this point until the MRI. I just want to get it over with. I am normally a pretty patient person, but I have had enough. I am frustrated and feeling like I am going to end up with surgery anyway, so just do it and move on. I really didn't want to have to be in a cast for Christmas. We'll see. I am trying hard to tell myself there is no reason to fret now. I cannot do anything to control this so I have to go with the flow.
So, I am finding myself apologizing once again. I will not be attending to my blog as much as I wish. It is not an easy task to type, so I am going to hold out for a while.
Although, I would like to share my Fabulous Friday find with ya'll. We have started a chore chart with the girls. They love it because they get to keep track of what they need to do on a daily basis. I like it because it is proof to whether or not they completed their daily chores. We review them on Friday during our quick family meeting and then they get their allowance for the week depending on how they did. I found a website that has really cute chore charts along with all types of behavior charts etc. It is fun because the kids can pick their character and feel like they are having some input. The website is www.FreePrintableBehaviorCharts.com
Check them out if you are interested in any sort of charts for your children. I hope it helps you to feel organized and also to help your children feel like they are accomplishing their goals.
Have a great weekend and Let's Go Mountaineers!!!
Oh, my friend, it's not what they take away from you that counts. It's what you do with what you have left. ~Hubert Humphrey
