Monday Oh Monday!

I had the typical "Monday" morning.  I did not want to get out of bed.  After hitting snooze, I rolled out of bed dragging my feet to wake up my daughter for school.  We have been having some really rough nights with our two year old.  I don't know why, but for some reason she is waking 2-3 times a night screaming hysterically.  It is so sad because she seems scared but I don't know of what?  I can usually rub her back and get her to fall asleep again.  Although, getting up those short periods of time really takes a toll on my sleep and body.  I am just exhausted today.  I will be making a cup of coffee here in a minute to get me through until bedtime.  Today, I am trying a different tactic; I am not putting her for a nap (she doesn't sleep anyway!)  I am going to play with her and have her outside in the fresh air in hopes that it will help her snooze away to dreamland tonight.

Anyone else have this occur around age 2 years and 3 months?  She is beginning to try potty training.  Totally her choice, not that I mind.  I am letting her take the lead on this one.  If I have learned anything from the older two it is you cannot force potty training.  So, I thought maybe she is waking up because she has to go?  I guess we'll see tonight.

Unfortunatley from lack of sleep I feel like my brain is not functioning at normal speed, so I am off to indulge in a cup of Joe!  Happy Monday everyone!!!

This quote made me laugh.  I know I have felt this way before :-)

There was never a child so lovely but his Mother was glad to get him to sleep.

My daughter went through that terrible sleep phase earlier this year and it got pretty bad. Part of it was dreaming. The doctor said that at this age they start having vivid dreams and it could be waking her. We addressed the sleep problems behaviorally with a specific bedtime routine and reward chart for bedtimes with no fight. We also used a little bit of melatonin on and off to help her get to sleep. Good luck! I hope your little one gets straightened out much sooner than mine did!

Don't aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally.
