Pack Lightly

We are getting ready to take a family vacation for almost two weeks.  For me, that is a LONG time.  I REALLY don't like packing.  I always feel like I am packing too much or not enough.  I tell myself that next time I will pack lightly and make do with what we have.  That never seems to happen.  I am one of those people who makes lists.  I have a list of items to pack, a list of items to get before our trip, a list of things to do around the house before we leave, blah, blah, blah.  Where is my list to not worry so much.   I am also one of those people who like to have my comforts of home even when I am away.  I think I passed this insaneness onto my girls.  I am trying to have them help me pack and my goodness they want to bring it all.  I have got to get a grip on this :-)

Anyway, we are excited to see our family and friends and hopefully get some R & R too.  It seems like whenever we travel we always need a recuperation week.  I am hoping the girls behave and our 12 hour trip goes smoothly.  My husband is meeting us in a few days, lucky him he gets to fly.  I will be sure to pack plenty of DVD's, games, the I pad and anything else that might possibly amuse the youngsters on our car ride!!!
Since, I will not be posting tomorrow I am wishing ya'll a fantastic Friday.  My fabulous Friday find this week is: Fooducate

It is an application for your phone / tablet that is amazing especially if you are trying to watch what you eat.  Some of the highlights are: you can scan any item in the store with your phone or tablet.  Fooducate then gives the item a rating.  It also gives you pros and cons about the food item PLUS alternatives that are similar but healthier.  I love this app.  When I am food shopping and trying to figure out if a certain food is okay I scan the barcode and Fooducate will tell me everything I need to know.  It really helps you be aware of all the unnecessary added ingredients and helps you to make a healthier choice.

Plus, the kiddos love using it and scanning items.  It is entertaining as well.  :-)  Have a great weekend ya'll.  Check out fooducate if you want to be educated about the food you eat!

Those that say you can't take it with you never saw a car packed for a vacation trip. ~ Author Unknown

Don't aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally.
