We can all dance when we find music that we love

The title today is taken from the beloved children's book, "Giraffe's Can't Dance."  My girls love this story as do I.  If you haven't read it, it is about a Giraffe who is laughed at for his dancing skills or lack thereof.  When he walks away embarrassed, head down, feeling sad he hears the wise words from a cricket friend to listen to the wind, the swaying trees etc.  All of a sudden Gerald (The Giraffe) is boogieing and dancing like a pro.  The animals who made fun of him are now admiring and praising him.

This story has such a deeper meaning than knowing how to dance.  It is about having confidence and believing in yourself even when others doubt what you are doing.  I love reading it with my girls, they get so excited when we get to the part where Gerald is dancing and swirling with pride.  I don't know about you, but I absolutely love to watch my kids dance.  It is the best entertainment around.  It instantly brings a smile to my face and laughter to my lips.  Dancing brings a sense of freedom...you can be super silly and still look cool =)

The other morning I was doing my exercise tape and my two younger ones wanted to watch.  They sat on the couch and were my audience...like I need one when I am jumping, huffing and puffing!!!  There came a point when the music was loud and quite inviting.  The girls were feeling their rhythms...In the blink of an eye my four year old and two year old were on the floor busting their moves.  It was hilarious....we all started laughing so hard that I couldn't finish my exercise.  That's okay though...these are the moments that I love.

I hope you go and have a fantastic Friday.  Listen closely and may you hear the music that you love.

Dance till the stars come down from the rafters
Dance, Dance, Dance till you drop.

Don't aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally.
